Birthday party in Central London

...people to see. Well, not really. More like 'we went to the Umbrella Museum in Ashby de la Zouch and it was GREAT.' If there is such a thing, that is.

Birthday party in Central London

Postby Kate on Fri Feb 05, 2010 10:03 pm

I am turning 29 very soon (eeek!!!) and am trying to figure out a place to host a birthday party in Central London on a Saturday afternoon...I know, big demands. We live in Kennington, so looking at the local area - South Bank, Vauxhall, maybe Covent Garden etc. Not hugely keen on going for a meal cause I'd like somewhere we can just hang out and the babies can crawl around. My LO will be 8 months by then and is starting to crawl now. My cousin's LO will be almost a year and is a super-fast crawler/tentative walker. there may also be toddlers...!! It will also need to be suitable for all my single/alcoholic/student friends.

I was thinking the Royal Festival Hall would be perfect cause they have the ballroom bit where lots of mums hang out, but they also have a bar. However, I wanna do it on 20th Feb and there's some kind of performance going on then. Any other ideas???

I was going to suggest the same! The low tables and sofas are good for LOs learning to walk too as they can pull themselves up and join in the fun. I used to go there a lot when L was smaller and they were always fab with LOs.
L is now 2!
